Welcome Cardinal Dolan
The Catholic Community of Kingsbridge
welcomes His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan as
he visits St. John-Visitation Parish this weekend.
Our parish is greatly honored and blessed with
Cardinal Dolan's pastoral visit in celebrating the
parish Saturday evening Mass along with meeting
and greeting parishioners.
Many thanks Cardinal Dolan for taking the
time in your schedule to join us. Welcome to
Kingsbridge and hope you enjoy your visit with the

Advent Reconciliation Monday
"Prepare the Way of the Lord” Isaiah 40:3
St. John-Visitation Parish will be joining
other parishes throughout the Archdiocese of New
York with offering opportunities for individual
confessions on Monday December 14th from 4:00 to
8:00 PM.
In this special Jubilee Year of Mercy, avail
yourself to this sacrament of God's forgiveness.
Also, please spread the word and consider inviting
and accompanying someone who has not
celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation for a
while to prepare for the celebration of Christmas by
experiencing God's love, mercy, and forgiveness.
Christmas Charity Drive
With another Christmas season
approaching, our parish will be accepting donations
of new toys, gift cards, and new clothing for
children, youth, and families assisted by the
outreach mission of Good Shepherd Services. The
age range is from newborn to teenagers.
New clothing for teenagers will gratefully be
appreciated along with new, unwrapped toys for
young children, both boys and girls. Donations may
be dropped off at the church during weekend
Masses and during the week at the parish pastoral
center.
Religious Christmas Cards
As a way to promote the true reason for the
holy season and "To Keep Christ in Christmas",
boxed sets of assorted religious Christmas cards,
both in English and Spanish are available for
purchase at the St. John-Visitation Parish Pastoral
Center. Cost is $5.00 per box.

The Year of Mercy
Pope Francis has called for an extraordinary
jubilee year, The Year of Mercy to begin on
December 8, 2015 and will continue until November
20, 2016 (The Solemnity of Jesus Christ, the King of
the Universe). The theme for The Year of Mercy is
based on Luke 6:36 biblical verse: "Be merciful, even
as your Father is merciful".
Pope Francis is encouraging all of us to
become more effective witnesses of God's merciful
love to all people by emphasizing the Church's
mission that "no one can be excluded from God's
mercy." In his 2015 Message for Lent in which Pope
Francis called for this Special Jubilee Year of Mercy,
he expressed the desire for "parishes to become
islands of mercy in a sea of indifference."
The Archdiocese of New York along with our
parish will be offering special events, activities, and
opportunities during The Year of Mercy. As a way to
begin this special jubilee year, pamphlets and prayer
cards are available in the church, both in English and
Spanish.
Shuttle Bus Service for Christmas Day
Arrangements have been made with
SuperTrans, the bus company that transports
parishioners on Sundays, to have the shuttle bus
service on Christmas Day for the 8:30 am and 11:30
am Masses. Our parish is grateful to SuperTrans for
making available the bus service on Christmas Day.
Christmas Flowers
Specially marked envelopes are available in
the church for those who wish to donate with the
upcoming decoration of both the upper and lower
church for Christmas with flowers and poinsettias.

Cardenal Dolan en la celebración de la misa
parroquial sábado por la noche, junto con conocer y
saludar a los feligreses.

Lunes de Adviento Reconciliación
"Preparen el camino del Señor" Isaías 40: 3
San Juan-Visitación se reunirá con otras parroquias
de la Arquidiócesis de Nueva York con el
ofrecimiento de oportunidades para las confesiones
individuales el lunes 14 de diciembre 4:00 -8:00 pm.
En este año jubilar especial de la
Misericordia, servirse de este sacramento del
perdón de Dios. También, por favor difundir la
palabra y la posibilidad de invitar y acompañar a
alguien que no ha celebrado el Sacramento de la
Reconciliación durante un tiempo para prepararse
para la celebración de la Navidad al experimentar el
amor de Dios, la misericordia y el perdón.
Evento de Caridad Navideño
Con otra temporada de Navidad se acerca,
nuestra parroquia comenzará a aceptar donaciones
de juguetes nuevos, tarjetas de regalo y ropa nueva
para los niños, jóvenes y familias atendidas por la
misión de difusión de Good Shepherd Services. El
rango de edad es desde recién nacidos hasta
adolescentes.
Nueva ropa para adolescentes será
agradecido apreciar junto con juguetes nuevos sin
envolver para niños pequeños, los niños y las niñas.
Las donaciones pueden ser dejadas en la iglesia
durante las misas de fin de semana y durante la
semana en el centro pastoral parroquial.
Tarjetas de Navidad Religiosa
Como una forma de promover el verdadero
motivo de la temporada santa y "para mantener a
Cristo en la Navidad", paquete especiales de una
variedad de tarjetas de Navidad religiosas, tanto en
Inglés y Español están disponibles para su compra
en el Centro Pastoral San Juan-Visitación. El costo

El Año de la Misericordia
El Papa Francisco ha pedido un
extraordinario año del jubileo, El Año de la
Misericordia para comenzar el 8 de diciembre, 2015
y continuará hasta el 20 de noviembre 2016 (La
Solemnidad de Jesucristo, Rey del Universo). El
tema para el Año de la Misericordia se basa en Lucas
06:36 el versículo bíblico: "Sed misericordiosos,
como vuestro Padre es misericordioso".
Francisco está animando a todos a ser
testigos más eficientes del amor misericordioso de
Dios a todas las personas acentuando la misión de la
Iglesia que "nadie puede ser excluido de la
misericordia de Dios." En su Mensaje para la
Cuaresma 2015 en el que Francisco llamó para este
año jubilar especial de la Misericordia, expresó el
deseo de "parroquias para convertirse en islas de la
misericordia en un mar de indiferencia."
La Arquidiócesis de Nueva York, junto con
nuestra parroquia estará ofreciendo eventos
especiales, actividades y oportunidades durante el
año de la Misericordia. Como una manera de
comenzar este año jubilar especial, folletos y
tarjetas de oración están disponibles en la iglesia,
tanto en inglés y español.

Especial sobres marcados están disponibles
en la iglesia para los que deseen donar con la
próxima decoración tanto de la iglesia superior e
inferior para la Navidad con flores y flores de
pascua.
