Intro. Muchos no toman en serio la
juventud, diciendo, “Así son los jóvenes…
son jóvenes sólo una vez… tienen que
probar todo… es el proceso de crecer”.
Intro. Many do not take youth seriously:
“That’s the way young people are … they’re
only young once… they have to experiment… it’s the process of growing up.”

Nos conviene recordar los ejemplos
bíblicos de jóvenes sobresalientes, que
nunca perdieron su fe en Dios y que
lograron mucho por el Señor.
We should remember the Bible
examples of outstanding young people,
who never lost their faith in God, and
who did great things for the Lord.

I. Timoteo, 1 Tim. 4:12, “ser ejemplo de
creyentes”. No debe haber “iglesia juvenil”.
Iglesia es un solo cuerpo, compuesto de
jóvenes, adultos jóvenes y ancianos.
I. Timothy, 1 Tim. 4:12, “be an example of
believers.” There should not be a “youth
church.” Church is only one body,
composed of young people, young adults
and the elderly.

A. Deben ser ejemplos para otros miembros
y para no miembros “en palabra, en
conducta, en amor, en fe y en pureza”.
Llevar la carga de ser diferentes con orgullo
A. Should be examples for other members
and non-members “in word, in conduct, in
love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” Bear the
burden of being different with pride.

B. 2 Tim. 3:14, “persiste en lo que has
aprendido” en el hogar (Prov. 1:8, 9; Efes.
6:4). Ser responsables, hacer su parte
(cocina, aseo, carro, yarda)… estudiar.

have learned” in the home (Prov. 1:8, 9; Eph.
6:4). Be responsible, do your part (kitchen,
cleaning, car, yard)… study.

las reuniones. Asistir fielmente,
participar en todo y persistir en ello.

II. JOSÉ fue probado de varias maneras,
pero siempre era fiel. Siempre retenía su fe
en Dios bajos circunstancias difíciles.
II. JOSEPH was tried in various ways, but
was always faithful. He always retained his
faith in God under difficult circumstances.

A. Gén. 37:3, hijo favorito. “Israel amaba a
José más que a todos sus otros hijos”, pero
él no llegó a ser orgulloso y arrogante.
A. Gen. 37:3, favorite son. “Now Israel loved
Joseph more than all his children,” but he
did not become vain and arrogant.

B. Gén. 37:4, aborrecido. “Lo odiaban y no
podían hablarle amistosamente”. Esto
produce amargura, resentimiento. Jóvenes,
¿cómo les hubiera afectado esto?

could not speak peaceably to him.” This
produces bitterness, resentment. Young
people, how would this have affected you?

C. Gén. 37:11, envidiado. “Sus
hermanos le tenían envidia”. Esto
puede producir mucha vanidad, pero
José no se enalteció.

envied him.” This can produce much
vanity, but this did not cause Joseph to
be puffed up.

D. Gén. 37:27, vendido. “Venid, vendámoslo
a los ismaelitas”. Algo completamente fuera
de nuestra comprensión. Un joven sin
padres, en un país ajeno y bien pagano.

the Ishmaelitas.” Something completely
beyond our comprehension. A youth without
parents, in a foreign country, entirely pagan.

E. Gén. 39:7, tentado. “la mujer de su
señor puso sus ojos en José y le dijo: -Acuéstate conmigo. V. 11, estaban
solos.

wife looked with desire at Joseph, and
she said, "Lie with me.“ V. 11, they were
alone.

F. Gén. 39:20, encarcelado injustamente… ¡por no pecar! (por no complacer la mujer tentadora).

G. Gén. 40:23, Olvidado por años. “Mas el
jefe de los coperos no se acordó de José,
sino que se olvidó de él”. Esto produce
amargura, resentimiento, pero no en José.

chief butler did not remember Joseph, but
forgot him.” This produces bitterness,
resentment… but not in Joseph.

H. José tenía fe, era victorioso. Su actitud
ante la tentación: “¿Cómo, pues, haría yo
esta gran maldad y pecaría contra Dios?”…
En cuanto a sus hermanos, les perdonó.
H. Joseph had faith, was victorious. His
attitude when tempted: “How then can I do
this great wickedness, and sin against
God?“… As for his brothers, he forgave
them.

Gén. 41:33, “Por tanto, provéase el
faraón de un hombre entendido y sabio
y póngalo a cargo de la tierra de
Egipto”.
Gen. 41:33, “Now therefore, let Pharaoh
select a discerning and wise man, and
set him over the land of Egypt.”

Gén. 41:38, “¿Podremos hallar otro
hombre como éste, en quien esté el
espíritu de Dios?” Y José llegó a ser el
gobernador de Egipto.
Gen. 41:38, “And Pharaoh said to his
servants, "Can we find such a one as
this, a man in whom is the Spirit of
God?” And Joseph became governor of
Egypt.

Pero no fue “por casualidad”. ¿Cómo llegó
a ese momento oportuno? La fidelidad de
José le hizo “el hombre de la hora”. Había
sido fiel, cumplido; por eso, era victorioso.
But it was not “by accident.” How did he
arrive at that opportune moment? His
faithfulness made him the “man of the
hour.” He had been faithful, fulfilled his
obligations; therefore, he was victorious…

III. Moisés. Criado como príncipe en Egipto,
“instruido en toda la sabiduría de los
egipcios” (Hech. 7:22), expuesto a todos
“los placeres del pecado” (Heb. 11:25).
III. Moses. Reared as an Egyptian prince,
“instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians” (Acts 7:22), exposed to all “the
pleasures of sin,” (Heb. 11:25).

Pero “prefirió, más bien, recibir
maltrato junto con el pueblo de Dios
que gozar por un tiempo de los
placeres del pecado”.
But “choosing rather to suffer affliction
with the people of God than to enjoy
the passing pleasures of sin.”

IV. Daniel 1:3, 4. También quitado de su
hogar como joven, llevado a un país ajeno,
entrenado por paganos, rehusó su comida,
1:8; adoraba a Dios bajo amenaza de muerte

as a youth, taken to foreign country, trained
by pagans, refused their food, 1:8;
worshipped God under threat of death.

En todo esto, no se envaneció (dio toda
la gloria a Dios, Dan. 2:20, 45; 4:19)… El
no vendió sus convicciones.
In all this, he did not become puffed up
(he gave all the glory to God, Dan. 2:20,
45; 4:19)… He did not sell his convictions.

V. Dan. 1:4, Tres jóvenes hebreos, “en quienes no
hubiese ningún defecto, bien parecidos,
instruidos en toda sabiduría, dotados de
conocimiento, poseedores del saber y capaces
para servir en el palacio del rey”.
V. Dan. 1:4, Three Hebrew youths, “in whom there
was no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all
wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to
understand, who had ability to serve in the king's
palace.”

La prueba: 3:5, adorar la estatua de oro; 6
“el que no se postre y adore, será echado
inmediatamente en un horno de fuego
ardiente”.
The Trial: 3:5, worship the golden statue; 6
“and whoever does not fall down and
worship shall be cast immediately into the
midst of a burning fiery furnace."

La respuesta: Dan. 3:16, “No
necesitamos darte una respuesta
acerca de este asunto”. ¡No requiere
respuesta!

need to answer you in this matter.” It
did not require an answer!

Dan. 3:17, “Si es así, nuestro Dios, a quien
rendimos culto, puede librarnos del horno
de fuego ardiendo; y de tu mano, oh rey,
nos librará”. ¡Tenían plena fe en Dios!
Dan. 3:17, “If that is the case, our God whom
we serve is able to deliver us from the
burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us
from your hand, O king.” They had complete
faith in God!

Dan. 3:18, “Y si no, que sea de tu
conocimiento, oh rey, que no hemos de
rendir culto a tu dios ni tampoco hemos de
adorar la estatua que has levantado”. Listos
a aceptar las consecuencias.
Dan. 3:18, “But if not, let it be known to you,
O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor
will we worship the gold image which you
have set up.” Accept consequences.

Ejemplo de convicción incondicional,
irrevocable. “¡Ya estoy resuelto!” Al
leer Rom.12:2; Mat. 5:11, etc. recuerden
los jóvenes hebreos de Daniel 3.
Example of unconditional, irrevocable
conviction. “I am resolved!” When
reading Rom. 12:1; Matt. 5:11, etc.,
remember the Hebrew youths of Dan. 3.

VI. David, 1 Sam. 17:32, “No desmaye el
corazón de ninguno a causa de él
(Goliat). Tu siervo irá y peleará con este
filisteo”.

your servant will go and fight with this
Philistine."

1 Sam. 17:33, “Tú no podrás ir contra
ese filisteo para luchar contra Él;
porque tú eres un muchacho”. Lo
menospreció. 1 Tim. 4:12.

for you are a youth.” He berated him. 1

1 Sam. 17:34-37, la fuente de la fuerza
de David era Dios quien le había librado

Jóvenes cristianos se encuentran con “gigantes” todos los días: compañeros, tentaciones, maestros y alumnos que aprueban
evolución, educación sexual, homosexuales
Christian young people deal with “giants”
every day: companions, temptations,
teachers and students that approve
evolution, sex education, homosexuals.

Presión de ser iguales a los demás. 1 Ped.
4:4, “A ellos les parece cosa extraña que
vosotros ya no corráis con ellos” y les
critican, hasta se burlan. Luz vs. tinieblas.
Peer pressure. 1 Pet. 4:4, “they think it
strange that you do not run with them,” and
they criticize you, make fun of you. Light vs.
darkness.

VII. Josías. 2 Crón. 34:3, “A los ocho años de su
reinado, siendo aún muchacho (16), comenzó a
buscar al Dios de su padre David. Y a los doce
años (20) comenzó a limpiar Judá y Jerusalén” de
la idolatría.
VII. Josías. 2 Chron. 34:3, “For in the eighth year
of his reign, while he was still young (16), he
began to seek the God of his father David; and in
the twelfth year (20) he began to purge Judah and
Jerusalem” of idolatry.

VIII. Jóvenes, imiten a estos héroes de la fe.
Su vida tenía “propósito”, tenía una meta, y
la alcanzaron. Obedezcan a Dios, ser fieles.
Si no, su vida será puro fracaso.
VIII. Young people, imitate these heroes of
the faith. Their life had a “purpose,” they
had a goal and they reached it. Obey God,
be faithful. Without this your life will be a
complete failure.

B. Su futuro será determinado por lo que
hace hoy. ¿Quiénes son sus héroes? ¿José,
Moisés, Daniel o deportistas, artistas, otros
mundanos…? ¿A quiénes imitan?
B. Your future will be determined by what
you do today. Who are your heroes?
Joseph, Moses, Daniel or athletes, movie
“stars,” other worldly people? Whom do you
imitate?

C. ¿Qué hará con su vida? Muchos jóvenes
no toman, no fuman, no usan drogas, pero
¿cuál es el propósito, la meta de su vida?
C. What will you do with your life? Many
young people do not drink, nor smoke, nor
use drugs, but what is the purpose, the goal
of their life?

D. El joven cristiano debe conocer su Biblia, orar
cada día, escoger buenos compañeros. “Si corre
con perros aprenden a ladrar y aullar, si duerme
con perros, se despierta con pulgas”. 1 Cor.
15:33.
D. The young Christian should know his Bible,
pray every day, choose good companions. “If
you run with dogs, you learn to bark and howl, if
you sleep with dogs you will wake up with fleas.”
1 Cor. 15:33.

Conclusión: Sal. 119:9, “¿Con qué limpiará
el joven su camino? Con guardar tu
palabra”. Ecles. 12:1, “Acuérdate de tu
Creador en los días de tu juventud…”
Conclusion: Ps. 119:9, “How can a young
man keep his way pure? By keeping it
according to Thy word.” Eccl. 12:1,
Remember now your Creator in the days of
your youth…”
