PRESENTE SIMPLE
QUERIDA ESTUDIANTE:
A continuación encontrarás algunos conceptos básicos sobre el tema del Presente Simple y el uso
de algunos adjetivos, en éste tiempo gramatical.
El Presente Simple es un tiempo verbal que se utiliza para expresar acciones que suceden sin que
sucedan en el instante o que ha sucedido en un momento dado. Se suele utilizar para hablar sobre
hechos que constituyen hábitos o costumbres o verdades generales; describir acciones habituales
que suceden con cierta frecuencia. Observemos los siguientes ejemplos.
I am a teacher. (Yo soy una profesora)
You are short (Tú eres bajo).
My sister is tall (mi hermana es alta)
the car is old (El carro es viejo)
My hamster is small (my hamster es pequeño).
1. Modo afirmativo: como su nombre lo indica, son aquellas oraciones que afirman una acción. Son
las oraciones más utilizadas y comunes. Observemos algunas, a manera de ejemplo e inventemos
algunas oraciones similares.

Modo interrogativo: como su nombre lo indica son aquellas oraciones que preguntan o
interrogan por algo o por alguien. Miremos el siguiente cuadro con respuestas afirmativas y
negativas.

Miremos este otro cuadro y observemos como se forma las anteriores respuestas, de manera corta,
afirmativa y negativamente. Es decir, Si (Yes) or No (Not) el resto de la respuesta depende de quien
realiza la acción (I, you, he, she, it, we, your, they) y el modo del verbo to be a usar (am, is, are).
