We, a Catholic community of diverse multicultural backgrounds, unite as a family under one Baptism in Christ. We
come together to pray, evangelize, learn and serve one another, the community and humankind. Guided by the Holy
Spirit, we pursue this mission by participation in the liturgical,
educational, outreach and social ministries of the Church.

If there was a movie opening this weekend that was a portrayal of the story of your life, would it be worth seeing? Would you even attend yourself? These tough questions were posed to a group of young adults from our
parish at the Steubenville Encounter conference in May of last year. The answers to those questions were
explored over the course of a 3 day, 2 night conference. In addition to learning how to make your life an adventure worthy of the big screen, our young adults had the opportunity to attend daily mass and confession.
The conference also had nightly social events and praise and worship led by nationally known Catholic musicians. The Encounter Conference is brought to you by the same people who run the Steubenville youth conference, which some of you may have attended while you were in high school. If you are looking for something to awaken the flame of the Holy Sprit in your life, to learn more about your faith, or simply get to know
some of the other young adults in our parish, this event is for you!
If you missed last year's conference, don’t fret, because we are going again this year! If you are a young adult
age 18 through 22 and out of high school one year, mark your calendars for May 29th -May 31st. St Vincent
de Paul has reserved several spots at this conference and will help provide transportation to and from the
conference, which is held in St Louis, MO. The cost is $235 with partial scholarship available. If you would
like more information, please pick up a flyer from the kiosk in the gathering space or contact Debi Snyder or
Jennifer Verkamp in the Church office.
Si hubiera una película estrenando este fin de semana que fuera un retrato de la historia de tu vida, ¿sería
digno de ir a verla? ¿Incluso usted asistiera? Estas preguntas difíciles se les preguntaron a un grupo de
jóvenes de nuestra parroquia en la conferencia encuentro de Steubenville en Mayo del año pasado. Las
respuestas a esas preguntas fueron exploradas en transcurso de la conferencia de 3 días, 2 noches.

ustedes asistieron cuando estaban en la preparatoria. Si están buscando algo que despierte la llama del Espíritu Santo en su vida, para aprender más sobre su fe, o simplemente para conocer más jóvenes de su
edad en nuestra parroquia, ¡este evento es para ti!

St. Vincent de Paul Parish is proud to be one of 26 local churches that partner to support Helping Hands. Helping Hands is a non-profit thrift store, from which come the
proceeds used in Benton County to aid residents in need. Our next scheduled parish
work day is Saturday January 10, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Volunteers are
needed to help as cashiers, clerks, baggers and receivers. This is a great opportunity to
volunteer as a family or earn service hours. If you are interested, please contact John

Post-Abortion Support Group: Do you feel alone,
hurting or unforgiven from a past abortion? The
Respect Life Office, through Project Rachel, is
starting a support group, beginning February 16,
2015. The spiritual journey lasts 11 weeks, with
small groups of 6-8. Groups will be formed in Little Rock, Fayetteville/Rogers and Hot Springs areas. All names and meeting places are strictly confidential. For

Northwest Arkansas Catholic High School
Update on Northwest Arkansas Catholic High School Project:
Thank you to all who completed our parish survey regarding a new Catholic high
school in Northwest Arkansas. We collected over 500 responses which indicated
overwhelming support for our project. We have formed a planning board with 18
members representing all of our area parishes. Jim Tull, Luisa Lamson, Elda Scott,
Katie Smith and Meredith Haviland are representing St. Vincent de Paul. We have
had three board meetings and have formed subcommittees to begin the work of planning for a new high
school. Our board is guided by the following mission statement for our new school:
Founded in Christian values and academic excellence, Northwest Arkansas Catholic High School develops assertive, socially responsible, and faithful leaders in a healthy, challenging and inclusive environment.
We continue to plan for a Fall 2017 opening. Thank you for your continued prayers for our project. If you want

¿Que debo de hacer para celebrar la Misa de 15 años de mi hija?
1. Reunirse con Sahara Sanchez (986-0880) para completar la forma Jueves
de 4:30pm a 5:30pma en la parroquia.
2. Si es feligrés de otra parroquia, traer carta de permiso de su párroco.
3. La jovencita debe haber recibido el Bautismo, Primera Comunión y Confirmación (o estar inscrita en su preparación sacramental para la Confirmación en su parroquia). Si no esta inscrita en preparación sacramental de
Catecismo, DEBERA proveer copia de certificado de Bautismo y de Primera Comunión.
4. La jovencita debe asistir al Retiro para Quinceañeras acompañada de sus
papas y se lleva a cabo en el Salon SVDP. El costo del retiro es de $25.00
(Lo mismo se pide si vienen de otra parroquia).
La Misa La Misa se celebra a las 11:00 un Sábado por mes (ver fechas al reverso
de este folleto). En la Misa se incluye la lectura de la Escritura, renovación de votos bautismales, la Santa
Comunión, bendición de regalos y la presentación de flores a la Virgen Maria
¿Cuál es el costo de la Quinceañera? Es importante que los papas sean miembros registrados y activos en nuestra parroquia para determinar el costo. Los papas deberán reunirse con nuestra Contadora, la
Sra. Maria Teresa Valenzuela para determinar si les corresponde la cuota de Feligres Activo u otro.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry was the recipient of a donation from the Walmart Deli Team.
Team representative Mike Goldshmidt presented the pantry with a check for $5,491 for the purchase of food.
In addition, the Walmart Food Pantry Holiday Makeover program was at the Food Pantry to present the
award of $20,000 for building improvements. A huge thank you goes out to Walmart for their generosity.
Throughout this past year the pantry has seen record numbers of clients with the number of clients continuing
to grow. Through the hearts and hands of many people the pantry has been able to support this growing
need in our community. The SVdP Society would like to thank Mercy for a $5,000 donation earlier this year
along with frequent food drive donations. In addition, Mercy will be donating another $5,000 prior to years
end. Harps/Price Cutter provided a $500 gift card, the Knights of Columbus donated $500, Panera Bread
and Walmart Neighborhood Market continue to help us through there food donations. The children from St.
Vincent de Paul donating baby items and food have made a lasting impact. The Greer Lingle School adopted
the pantry and provided food donations. Pack Shack continually donates ready made food packets to supplement our inventories. The NWA Food Bank has been a valuable resource over the years and has never failed
in helping us provide to the needy. Lastly, but no less important, all of the donors in 2014. Our parishioners
donations through the Black Bag and Sharing Sunday. And the numerous volunteers that provide their time
and talent in the service of the Lord. Thank you all. God Bless you and your families and Merry Christmas.
La sociedad de San Vicente de Paul banco de comida fue el destinatario de la donación del equipo de la
Walmart Deli. Representante del equipo Mike Goldshmidt presento al banco con un cheque de $5,491 para
comprar comida. Además, el programa de Walmart Food Pantry Holiday Makeover estuvo en el banco de la
comida para presentar el premio de $20,000 para mejorar el edificio. Un enorme agradecimiento para
Walmart por su generosidad.
Durante este pasado ano el banco de comida ha visto cifras record de cliente, cada semana suben. A través
de los corazones y manos de muchas personas el banco has podido apoyar las necesidades de esta comunidad creciente. La Sociedad SVDP y el banco de comida quieren agradecer a Mercy por su donación de
$5000 que fue donada hace unos meses y por sus donaciones frecuentes de comida. Además, Mercy va estar donando $5000 al final del ano. Harps/Price Cutter provee dio con una tarjeta de regalo de $500, los Caballeros de Colon dono $500. Panera Bread y Walmart Neighborhood Market continúan ayudándonos a
través de sus donaciones de comida. Los niños de San Vicente de Paul están donando artículos de bebe y
comida y han hecho un impacto muy grande. La escuela Greer Lingle adopto el banco y provee dio
